Stand with Kifah's Family in Dire Need
Donation protected
"My name is Kifah Al-Aqra. I am 47 years old, a father and husband, and I am from Gaza.
We are in the midst of the pain, wounds, and anxiety filled days. We need $1000 as soon as possible for treatment, food, and clothes.
Kifah's Son
My family is 17 people. My mother is sick and needs treatment and diapers. My son--that you can see in the main photo-- is injured and needs expensive treatment. My wife is sick and needs treatment. We have no food. We live a life like hell with bombing, fire strikes, and demolition of homes to the point where we cannot find anything to eat, drink, or warmth.
Medication that his family members use and are in dire need of
Kifah's son with diapers that are needed for both his youngest child, and his elderly mother
Help us by donating even part of the amount. I hope you will stand by us and help us. "
My name is Renn Simmons and I am a climate artist and researcher living in Portland, OR and am a lead organizer with a small mutual aid group called PDX Spiritual and Creative Integrity. I am fundraising on behalf of Kifah and his beautiful family in Gaza, who are facing the most dire and dangerous conditions on our planet right now.
PSCIC has been receiving requests from many families in Gaza to begin fundraisers for them as we have shifted a lot of our focus over to fundraising campaigns, which is how we came into contact with Kifah and his family. As with all of the families in Gaza we have come into contact with, we went through a compassionate identify and location verification process with Kifah. We also do our absolute best to be led strictly by Kifah and his wishes, and will continue to so throughout the process of fundraising and staying in connection with him and his family.
Our hope is to always try to connect families in Gaza with other on-the-ground organizations as possible, but we are seeing more and more that getting aid from these groups is sometimes impossible and very dangerous in terms of travel and actually connecting with these groups.
Having autonomous access to their own money to meet their needs is often the only form of guaranteed support, especially as conditions around them shift on a daily basis and as supplies and aid continue to dwindle.
Kifah will have access to his money through a PayPal account, and we work to keep up-to-date transparency records of the amounts and dates money is transferred. Please reach out if you have more questions. We also have the deep honor of receiving updates on Kifah's family as they continue to experience horror after horror, and will do our best to offer updates as they are shared.
Right now, Kifah's greatest needs are:
-Money to buy his family their medications--along with everything else in Gaza, this is incredibly expensive
-Food, diapers, and clean water
We are hoping to contribute at least $150 a week to start to meet their immediate crisis needs, and are asking for those donating to consider contributing weekly starting at $5. GFM and PayPal take out sizable fees, so we ask that you consider this in your donations.
We are also offering art prints and other thank-you gifts to support Kifah's family, so please visit our Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/pdxspiritualintegrity/ to see what we are offering.
With gratitude,
Kifah and Renn
