Stand with Ligia's Mom and Dog Through Tragedy

Dear Family and Friends,

My name is Cyril Macapagal, and I’m one of Ligia Lanuza’s work bestfriend. Ligia is an amazing person, and a friend to many, and I know those of you who know her can attest to. Her Mom Aura ‘Ligia’ Lanuza has been the kindest, most generous, supportive family to me and to those around them. Ligia’s Mom, ‘Mama Ligia’ and her dog ‘Seager’ are the core foundation of her life- they are all she has. Both Mama Ligia and Seager were recently involved in a tragic, pedestrian injury accident and currently in need of our love, prayers and assistance.

On Tuesday, May 14th, Mama Ligia was taking her routine afternoon walk with their dog ‘Seager’ inside their apartment complex in Diamond Bar. An Amazon truck driver recklessly ran over Mama Ligia and Seager, causing major traumatic injuries. Mama Ligia was found on the ground, disoriented and confused, screaming in pain and vomiting profusely as her head thrashed into the concrete ground. Meanwhile, Seager was found a couple feet away from the accident- completely distraught, wailing in pain and unable to walk.

Mama Ligia was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital Trauma department and admitted into the Intensive Care unit. She suffered multiple brain bleed: bifrontal subarachnoid hemorrhages as well as a right cerebellar hemorrhage with occipital lobe fracture and frontal fractures in the brain.

She is now downgraded to Telemetry and showing positive signs of improvement - but needs further therapy for her brain injury that have caused some changes in cognitive and functional mobility.

Seager has a broken right pelvis, broken ribs, broken hip and will be needing surgery on the right pelvis to give him mobility and a chance to regain a good quality of life.

Because of their extensive medical needs, legal matters that must be pursued and an anticipated long recovery journey- I am humbly asking with prayers and petition- for your help and financial support in this most trying time in their family.
