Stand with Lisa: Rebuilding After Loss

Update: 07/12/2024 Thank you everyone who is kindly donated. The Red Cross gave them very little funding, and they have started cleaning up the property. We are halfway to being able to pay for a temporary camper for them to stay in on the land. It would be appreciated greatly if you could just share this link for 24 hours. A good friend of mine, Lisa Shelley McGaha, lost her entire home, the contents, and all physical property Wednesday night after what seemed like a natural gas explosion. The Red Cross provided them with very little funding. I am trying to raise enough money for her to put some shelter back on her property. She did not have insurance on her home.

Lisa is one of the most caring people I have ever known. She is always the first to offer anyone in need the shirt off her back. She has gone without many times to help someone with needs more significant than her own. I hope you can find it in your heart to help me even if it is just a dollar to find a way to help her start over.

According to the Houston County Fire Department (HCDP), crews responded just after 5 p.m. on June 26th to 210 Baker Drive for a report of a residential structure fire.

On the scene, crews found the home fully engulfed in flames with multiple vehicles also on fire in the front yard. HCFD said all residents of the home managed to escape the blaze before crews arrived, and no injuries were reported. The home sustained significant damage and was "a total loss," according to HCFD.

Fire investigators arrived on the scene to start their investigation, and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined. HCFD said the Red Cross was notified and is assisting the displaced occupants.

HCFD said it took several hours to get the fiery home under control, and crews left the house at 11:20 p.m.
