Stand with Lisa White in Her Cancer Journey

Hello everyone! I am writing to all of you on behalf of one of my closest friends, Lisa White, who was recently and suddenly diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of fast-spreading cancer called Sarcomatoid Carcinoma. As cancer is notorious for doing, this diagnosis took the breath away from Lisa and all those that love her.
Lisa has dedicated the last 30 years of her life taking care of the people of NYC as a Registered Nurse in emergency departments across the tristate area. For those of you who have not had the pleasure of knowing Lisa, I think it is important for me to try to help you understand the amazing human being that she is. Lisa is one of the most generous and thoughtful people I have ever met. A story that always inspires me is the time that she took off one of her nicest coats and gave it to a patient who did not have anything to keep warm for the winter. It was not even a question of if she wanted to do it; she just did it as if it was second nature to her. When I was sick with COVID during the height of the pandemic and everyone was terrified of the unknown, Lisa took the time to trek to my apartment and hand deliver a ginger wellness concoction that she personally whipped up for me. While these are just two examples of Lisa's generosity, I am positive that everyone who knows her, has a memory of Lisa's generosity to share with the world. She is the calmest, coolest, and most collected person in times of chaos. In the past 8 years of working alongside her, she has been the unwavering leader and source of stability for both doctors and nurses that work with her. She is one of the most resilient people and takes on every hardship in her life head first and leaves most of us asking, "How does she do it?"
Lisa is one of the most accomplished and "decorated" people that I will ever know. While being a single mother raising two daughters in one of the most expensive cities in the world, Lisa was able to manage holding down at least three jobs while also getting several degrees over the years. The impressive list of degrees include her Master's in Public Health, Master's in Public Administration, Master's of Science in Nursing, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification, and her most recent accomplishment, Doctorate of Nursing Practice. While this impressive list shows the hunger for knowledge, success, and life that Lisa has always had, I think the most important role she has ever played is mom, sister, and friend.
All of us at some point in our time of knowing Lisa have looked to her for guidance, tough love, and positivity, and now it is our turn to return the favor to her. Lisa's diagnosis has brought her career to a complete standstill for the first time in 30 years, and unfortunately, unexpected medical expenses, treatments, and challenges are starting to burden her while she fights this aggressive cancer. Your support can make a world of difference. Every contribution, big or small, will be so appreciated by Lisa and her loved ones. Together, we can help ease her burden and remind her she's not alone in this fight.
If you are able, please donate to this GoFundMe. If you're unable to donate financially, sharing this message within your network or sending words of encouragement would mean so much. Let's come together to support Lisa and show her the same care and generosity that she has given to so many over the years. Thank you for your kindness!
