Stand with Marilou in Her Time of Need
Donation protected
A group of Marilou Webb's friends are putting together this fundraiser to seek support for our dear friend in her greatest time of need; the loss of her son Sam to an accidental overdose on June 26th. Marilou is such a dedicated mother to her three boys; they mean everything to her. She tried so very hard to help Sam as he struggled with the disease of addiction in recent years. Despite the depth of pain from this tragedy, Marilou wishes to share her son's story. We pray that spreading more awareness of this epidemic and more dialogue may change the story for even just one person. Addiction does not discriminate; it can happen to anyone and there is help available for those battling.
Sam was a kind and well-loved young man who had worked to obtain his electrician certification. He is a triplet with brothers Jack and Luke, born October 9, 1999. The brothers grew up in Steiner Ranch and attended Vandegrift High School. Sam had made strides toward recovery recently with 114 days sober until he relapsed.
Marilou had a financial setback through no fault of her own as the boys entered high school and has worked tirelessly to take a new path in life and support herself and her boys. She has maintained her positive outlook despite having to begin a new career in middle age. The goal of this fundraiser is to help to cushion the blow of this loss as she steps forward in life without her beloved boy Sam. There will be costs to bear with the funeral, other end of life expenses and travel expenses for the boys. Marilou will likely need some time away from work, so this will help her with that as well.
Sam carried this prayer with him on a keychain:
The Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen
Sam has left us far too soon and we hold on to the comfort of knowing that he is in Heaven and we will be reunited one day.
