Stand with Matt Huss in His Fight Against Cancer

Greetings Friends, Family & Supporters. My name is Dan Putnam. I am starting a GoFundMe for one of the most incredible guys I have ever met...Matt Huss. Matt was diagnosed with stage 4 renal carcinoma. It started in his kidney and spread several tumors to his lungs and spine. In November, he had back surgery to remove a large tumor that broke a vertebra and had to go through several weeks of physical therapy to learn how to walk again and build his strength. He currently is undergoing immunotherapy and radiation to fight this cancer, and this is taking a toll on him physically and mentally. Next week he will find out if his kidney needs to be removed to help stop the spread of this aggressive cancer.

Matt has not been able to earn an income since September, and this setback has wiped him out financially. Insurance companies are fighting for every penny, and it's really sad that he has to exert energy on fighting with them to get what he needs for medical care.

I had the pleasure of working for Matt at three different hotels over the years, and he is by far the most amazing leader and manager I have ever worked for...I guess that's why I kept following him. He has a way of making everyone on his team feel valued, important to the mission, and always has their backs. When we were in Memphis together, we had several employees that struggled financially just to keep a roof over their heads, and Matt was always that guy going around with the collection cup to raise money to take care of those who needed it...many times he just took the money out of his own pocket to help his employees. At our team rallies, Matt always showed up in some silly costume to bring laughter and fun to our event. He literally has a wardrobe of costumes in his office! I am so sad that he has to fight for his life right now with this diagnosis.
