Stand with Melissa Brown in Her Cancer Journey

Hello.

My name is Jennifer.

My sister Melissa was just diagnosed with Glioblastoma.

For those who do not know what that is, it is a very aggressive form of brain cancer.

On 9/11/2024, she was taken by ambulance to a local hospital after having 3 Grand Mal Seizures.

One year ago to the date, we lost our brother to cancer.

An MRI of the brain revealed a tumor had formed on the left side of her brain.

She underwent brain surgery that Friday to remove the tumor, and it was sent to Mayo Clinic for a Pathologist to examine it.

The next Friday, it was diagnosed as Glioblastoma.

Needless to say, this has been devastating news for her and our family.

She is an extremely strong and compassionate person and is ready to fight this to get as much time as possible with her family and friends.

She will be starting the process of treatment very soon at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.

Unfortunately, for the unforeseeable future, she is unable to return to work or drive.

As many know, this is extremely difficult for Melissa.

She has always been a very hard worker and very independent.

She is going to need all of the love and support possible from everyone with her upcoming battles.

I will keep updating as things progress.

We hope to be just as aggressive with the treatment as the diagnosis is.
