Stand with Michael: Battling Leukemia Together

Support Michael Kienzle and His Family

Michael Kienzle has dedicated his life to serving others, both as a firefighter and as a paramedic. A graduate of Chemeketa Community College, Michael earned associate degrees in Fire Science and Paramedicine. His journey began in 2015 as a volunteer with the Corvallis Fire Department, and in 2019, he officially started his firefighting career with them.

In 2024, Michael took the next step in his career by joining Redmond Fire & Rescue. During the fire academy and many weeks afterward, Michael dealt with what was initially believed to be a respiratory infection. Shortly after reporting for duty on February 19th, Michael began feeling unwell, requiring him to seek treatment. As his condition worsened, he was forced to move through higher levels of care at a local hospital. This culminated in Michael being flown to Seattle for advanced treatment.

After a short time in the hospital in Seattle, Michael was unexpectedly diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia called T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He and his family need our help as he faces this challenging battle. The road ahead will include intensive treatments, travel expenses, and time away from work for both Michael and Lisa as they focus on his health and caring for their son.

Beyond his career, Michael is a loving husband to Lisa and a devoted father to their 1-year-old son, Logan. He is known for his passion for golf, love of history, and unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and community. Michael is big in stature and has a huge heart, giving back to his community by helping the coaching staff at his local high school, where he works to coach and mentor student-athletes.

Michael has spent years selflessly protecting and supporting his community, and now it’s our turn to give back. Your contribution, no matter the size, will help ease the financial burden on the Kienzle family and allow them to focus on what truly matters: Michael’s recovery and their time together as a family.

This has been an incredibly challenging time for Michael and his wife. They are deeply grateful for the love and support they have received from their family and friends.

Thank you for your generosity, prayers, and support during this difficult time.

The family has started a CaringBridge page to update friends, family and the many supporters.
