Stand with Missy: A Single Mom's Plea to Keep Her Home

My name is Missy, a single mom of a 13 year old daughter. Suddenly becoming a single mom is not where I expected to be after 27 years of marriage. However, here I am.

In December, 2023 my ex-husband committed crimes against our family. These crimes were such that he has been put in prison, where he will most likely be for decades.

Because of these events, I am in a situation of having only my disability income to support my daughter. As such, I've fallen behind in my mortgage payments and need to catch up.

Thankfully I'll be able to make future payments as my oldest daughter is living with me and will be helping. I just need to get caught up.

I have sought resources elsewhere and unfortunately, places have run out of funding. I've looked into low income housing, however, there is a wait list of 3 years. My daughter and I have nowhere else to go.

I also have some much needed repairs that need to be done around the house. My ex husband kicked in my garage door and it doesn't close properly. My basement flooded due to heavy rains and the flooring needed to be ripped up. The flashing on the outside of the house has not been sealed which is why the basement flooded. The roof of my deck is rotting and leaking and needs replaced. I also have some shingle repairs to my roof that need done due to recent storms.

I'm asking for $3500 to get me caught up and repairs done. Any amount you can donate would be greatly appreciated.
