Stand with Nakia: Job Loss and Housing Struggle

Hi guys, my name is Nakia Hardeman, and I am reaching out to you all for some financial help. I lost my job at Children’s Healthcare Of Atlanta because of me having a medical emergency during my shift and I needed to go home. I have huge fibroids and cysts which cause me to bleed and clot HEAVILY and have an irregular cycle. I happened to start my cycle during work; out of nowhere, a big gloop happened, so I bled everywhere in the chair. Since my role that night was sitter, I had to sit and wait on a relief. Mind you, I am bleeding heavily into my chair but trying not to cause a scene with my patient. Once I ran out of the room to the bathroom, I was stuck on the toilet waiting for my team lead to bring me something to clean up. I let them know I needed to go home, shower, and change clothes, and of course, the main concern was me having no one to cover me. When in actuality, my team lead could’ve covered, or a PCT from another floor, or someone could’ve been called in; we have extras all the time on standby READY to work. Because of me needing to go home, that caused me an occurrence, and I already had occurrences from when my mother had her stroke and the September tropical storm happened. The hotel we stayed in flooded, so I had been working on getting those removed already. It had been 6 months; I hadn’t called out or anything. Mind you, since I incurred this last occurrence, I lost my job effective immediately. I was able to thankfully pay my rent and bills for March, but I have been job searching and doing interviews, and I haven’t had any luck just yet, but of course, that’s not going to stop me from searching harder. My dilemma is that it’s getting closer and closer to April, and my rent and bills still have to be paid. Mind you, I just moved into our home in January. Before that, we had been hotel to motel to state to couch, so I wouldn’t purposely do anything to have lost the very income that finally made us stable again. Please help us to not lose the roof over our heads and give me the chance to keep our home while I find my next job. (If anyone knows any jobs hiring immediately, let me know ASAP).
