Hi. My name is Nina and my husband was Ronnie Standridge. I’m writing this because like so many people I also have a story to tell. Let me tell you about my husband and I. We have been together since 16 we are both Carson High Class 1972 graduates. My husband was a hardworking man who also suffered becoming disabled at 32. Even with lifelong chronic pain family first. But April 3, 2024 life changed.

That night he shook, seemed cold. We both got up and went to the bathroom. As I left him on the toilet to go get a walker for him I came back and he was dead weight on the floor. In That moment life changed. Up until that point my life had been my family and work until I retired. That morning an ambulance came. We went to the hospital. You look for answers and our quest led us from not having a care in the world when it comes to a life changing medical conditions to Stage Four Liver Cancer, End Stage Cirrhosis (he wasn’t a drinker. He got this from diabetes and from medications), and Blood Clots in his Plural Vein blocking blood flow to his Liver. From going back and forth to hospitals to drain his stomach, to being med flighted to a different state because he coded you learn quick the hardships a family goes through. He got sick on April 3 and passed on April 30. During that time he had seen an Oncologist and was told he had 6 months he had 8 days! Not enough time to adjust. The money I raise will help with Medical and Other expenses that have come in during this transition. There were many expenses that happened in that last month from Ambulance fees, medical to travel expenses, and any help with family expenses that came up.
