Stand With Omar ! Secure His Path to Safety

Rozalyn, Zaynab, and Kate are currently raising funds to assist a 24-year-old Palestinian in evacuating Gaza. Gaza is currently under siege, and our friend Omar finds himself stranded in the South alone, facing numerous challenges. He struggles to access basic necessities such as food, given soaring prices and an inability to work amid these dire circumstances.

In 2008, he sustained severe injuries, including burn wounds, during previous conflicts. With local hospitals either nonfunctional or overwhelmed with new casualties, Omar is unable to receive the ongoing medical care he desperately needs near his home. In light of these circumstances, the aim is to raise sufficient funds to facilitate Omar's safe passage to Egypt. He believes it is no longer safe for him to remain in the South, as was communicated previously.

The collected funds will be deposited into a US bank account and subsequently transferred to his account. These funds will be utilized to meet Omar's basic needs as well as for evacuation purposes. The money will be sent to pay a travel agency in Egypt, which will coordinate Omar's evacuation. Furthermore, once Omar can cross the border, the funds will cover his accommodation while seeking ongoing medical treatment.

Hello, my name is Omar Hamdi Arshi

I am a Gazan who has been displaced from the North of Gaza to Rafah. I am no stranger to hardship. In 2008, I sustained severe injuries and burns on my back and arm during a previous war, requiring medical attention until 2016. That same year, my father passed away, leaving me as the sole provider for my family. Recently, I invested my savings in a business plan that was set to launch when the current war erupted, resulting in the loss of everything – family members, friends, home, savings, job, and future plans. I am currently separated from my family, who are still trapped in the North of Gaza. Every day is a struggle to find basic necessities while also seeking ways to aid my family.

In addition to the mental burden, my past injuries have resurfaced, requiring medical attention. Amidst this uncertainty, rebuilding my life seems impossible, but the thought of my family needing me keeps me going. I aim to evacuate for medical help and to resume supporting my family. I yearn to piece my life back together. Sharing this campaign and contributing, no matter how small, is very helpful, as our situation gets worse by the day. Your support means everything to me.
