Stand with Reese in His Fight for Life
Donation protected
I am starting this fundraiser for close friends who are like family to us. The boy in this picture, his name is Reese. He is 16. Early on the morning of Sunday, June 23rd, he was walking along the side of the road to cool down after having words with his mother. While doing so, he was struck by a vehicle which then fled the scene of the accident, leaving him lying in the ditch alone.
His mother Gloria, who is pictured with him in the photo, found him and started administering life-saving measures, waiting for EMT's and emergency personnel to arrive and take over. He was then rushed to the hospital where he underwent emergency surgery to remove his spleen because it was so badly damaged from the accident. He also suffered trauma to his head. He currently is not showing any signs of brain activity and is currently in a coma.
Later in the day on Sunday, he was life-lined via helicopter to the much larger hospital in Indianapolis because the neurological testing that they're wanting to do couldn't be performed at the hospital where he was. But as of Sunday evening, he was still showing no brain activity and things weren't looking good for his outcome. But I'm keeping the faith and praying that God will protect him and save him. And I'm hoping that the reason for no brain activity is due to the trauma he's suffered and he pulls through.
Yes, I know that he will have a long road ahead of him. But he's got an army behind him all the way. Please share this and pass this along. Any sort of donation will help, even if it's only a $1. Thank you for taking the time to read Reese's story.
