Stand with Richard Reed in His Cancer Battle

This GoFundMe page is for my dad, Richard Reed. This isn't something he wanted to do, but at this point we are going to need help with his medical bills.

At the end of April this year, he had an unexpected ER visit to which we thought he was having trouble with his gallbladder. After some blood work and a CT, they noticed some masses in his colon and some spots on his liver. This is when we were informed that it looks like colon cancer with metastasis present.

His next step was to meet with the gastroenterologist. A colonoscopy/biopsy was preformed with the findings of 3 tumors and 2 polyps, all of which came back cancerous. He was sent for a CT with contrast to see them better. This is when the gastroenterologist set him up with a surgeon down in Williamsport.

On Thursday, June 6th, we went to Williamsport to meet with the surgeon. She had serious concerns for his latest blood work. She mentioned that his liver levels had doubled in the matter of weeks. We were shone the CT of his liver, which was consumed with small growths. She asked that he have more blood work done, just to be sure and set him up for a PET scan in Erie on the 17th.

The following Monday, June 10th, he went to Coudersport hospital and had the blood work redone. That afternoon, the surgeon from Williamsport called and informed my brother that we needed to get him to an ER right away for what she thought was complete liver failure.

On that same day, we took him to UPMC Hamot ER. After a 7 1/2 hour wait, they got him into the room. They ran blood work, which showed his levels up almost 100 since that mornings blood work. They ran a CT and had a surgeon come talk with us. At this point, we were told that there was nothing to do besides bring him home and make him comfortable.

We have an appointment for him on June 26th with Roswell for a second opinion.

At this point, medical bills are starting to roll in from what his insurance won't cover. There will be more coming and if we make it to Roswell, there will be even more after that. So, please.. any little bit would help and be greatly appreciated.
