Support Roderick Johnson: A True Friend and Family Member in His Time of Need

On July 5, 2024, our dear friend and beloved family member, Roderick Johnson, was

senselessly injured by a gunshot. It’s impossible to express the shock and pain we all felt

when we heard the news. Roderick, known to everyone as a down-to-earth, genuine,

diehard Cowboy’s fan, and loyal person, has always been the first to offer a helping hand,

the one to bring a smile to your face even in the toughest times. Now, it’s our turn to be

there for him.

In the days that followed the tragedy, we hoped and prayed that Roderick’s path to recovery

would be straightforward. But as time has passed, the gravity of his injuries has become all

too clear. Roderick has already endured two cardiac arrests since the incident, each one a

heart-wrenching reminder of how much he is fighting just to stay with us. Every day, he

battles with incredible strength and determination, refusing to give up, despite the

unimaginable challenges he faces.

But this battle is not his alone. It’s one that we, his family and friends, must also fight with

him. Unfortunately, Roderick’s health insurance will only cover the first 25 days of his

continued care once he is discharged from the hospital and transferred to a skilled nursing

facility, we’ve now been informed. Beyond that, the costs fall entirely on his family, and the

burden is overwhelming. We are at a crossroads, struggling to find a way forward, and we

fear that without help, Roderick won’t be able to get the care he needs to fully recover.

But if there’s one thing we all know about Roderick, it’s that he would be the first to step up

and help if any of us were in this position. He has always been there for us, a steadfast

friend and family member, someone we could always rely on. Now, in his time of need, he’s

relying on us.
