Stand with Rory: Help After Unthinkable Loss
Donation protected
My name is Betty Williams, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support for my dear friend, Rory Kaufman, and his family. Rory is not just a civil rights activist; he’s a pillar of the Sacramento community, a man who has dedicated his life to advocating for others. Now, he needs our help.
This past holiday season has been unimaginably difficult for Rory and his family. His beloved mother, a former teacher and military veteran who gave so much to her community, passed away just after Christmas. Her final wish was to spend Christmas with her two children, and Rory, who had just been discharged from the hospital himself, made that happen. She passed away the next day, leaving Rory and his sister devastated.
As if that loss wasn’t enough, tragedy struck again while the family was preparing for her funeral. The Eaton Fire tore through Altadena, destroying both his mother’s and his sister’s homes. Rory’s sister, who is battling stage four cancer, lost everything she had. I cannot begin to express the weight this has placed on her as she fights for her life.
Rory has spent decades fighting for our community—now it’s our turn to fight for him. I’ve organized this fundraiser to help him and his family get back on their feet. The funds we raise will go toward rebuilding their lives, covering essential expenses, and helping his sister find stability as she continues her battle.
Rory has always been there for us, standing up for what’s right and advocating for those in need. Let’s come together to show him the same love and support he’s given to so many. Every donation, big or small, will make a world of difference.
Thank you for standing with us in this time of need. Together, we can help Rory and his family rebuild and find hope again.
