Stand with Sincere: Fund His Rehabilitation

We are Tamaira and James Ray Rhodes and are the grandparents of Sincere Stanley. Despite our many efforts to shield and protect our children and grandchildren from the unconscionable disease of street and gun violence, it has reared its ugly head and devastated our family.

On June 21, 2024, while working his part-time job 'door-dashing,' Sincere was tragically shot in his back by a cowardly thug and is now paralyzed. Despite Sincere's valiant attempt to fight off his attacker, a concerned neighbor assisted him until medics and the police arrived. This guardian angel saved his life.

Sincere just reached his 21st birthday and despite starting his new full-time job, Sincere kept his part-time job to assist his mother and 3 siblings. His work ethic is just one of the many qualities that makes Sincere an all-around quality human being who we love wholeheartedly.

Sincere had successful surgery to repair his damaged spine, but remains in critical condition with a punctured lung, low oxygen and challenges breathing. His mother, who is working full-time with many extra hours, and going to school to become a registered nurse, faces the challenges of missing work without pay to attend to Sincere, his doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, other medical professionals as well as provide adequate care to his younger siblings while completing a rigorous RN (registered-nurse) degree program.

While some insurances are in place, they will not cover all of Sincere's medical expenses including making their home ADA accessible, therapy, equipment, supplies and in-home nursing care post a challenging road through therapy and rehabilitation.

Your assistance will help our family relieve the mounting financial challenges while moving forward with faith trusting that Sincere will have as close to a 'new-normal' lifestyle as possible. This request is being made with our hearts exposed instead of our hands out. As working class grandparents, even our resources are limited and will only go so far.
