Stand with Steven Hughes' Family

On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, our Recovery Agent Steven Hughes was repossessing a vehicle in Columbia, SC with the unit hooked to his wrecker when he was tragically shot and killed. Steve was no rookie to this profession and was only doing his job. He did not deserve this terrible ending to his life. This past Sunday his daughter Stephanie spent Father's Day without her Daddy. And yesterday June 17, 2024, Steve's family celebrated his 47th birthday in his absence. In addition to his sweet daughter, Steve leaves behind his precious mother, Monica who has now lost all 3 of her children - (Steve's brother just passed two months ago) - as well as her husband and Steve's father. And we at Carolina Towing & Recovery lost an integral part of our work family and team. Such a senseless situation for everyone. We are all still in shock and disbelief. Although Steve's family has asked for nothing but your support and prayers, so many have wanted to make a contribution in Steve's memory for his loved ones left behind. I will ensure that any and all donations are given directly to Steve's mother and daughter to help them with expenses through this difficult time. In 26 years of business at CTR we have never been more heartbroken. Although life seems so unfair sometimes regardless of the circumstances we know and trust that God is always there.
