Stand with Summer: A Worker's Struggle
Donation protected
Hello! I'm Kerry. I'm raising funds for Summer, a fellow Home Depot Workers United union organizer. Funds will be used to keep the power on in Summer's family's home, Final disconnect is scheduled for 6/30/24. Simultaneously, Summer and her family will loose their Home Depot provided insurance benefits at the end of the month if her premium is not paid up. The lost ability to keep up with these bills is a result of a work injury.
Summer has worked for Home Depot for 3 years. Unfortunately she's been living with a work injury for over 2 of those years. During this time, Summer has had 2 surgeries. One of those surgeries failed. While she was scheduled to return to work after recovering from her last surgery after 5 months, it's now 6 months later. Home Depot has denied to accommodate Summer's work restrictions, given by her Dr , which keep her from returning to work. Being off work for so long has created a situation where Summer has been having to decide which basic needs of her family's to prioritize over another. Inevitably, the lack of resources has caught up, and now her family is at risk of having their electricity shut off, while also loosing their health insurance. Please help this family keep the lights on and retain their health insurance by donating whatever you can. Thank you!
Besides educating and empowering her co-workers, Summer is a dedicated mom and wife. She volunteers her time with the Shoreline, WA school district, as an Art Docent, to fill the void of the district's lack of an art program. She also volunteers with Help link, a community program that connects those in need with food banks. Summer has a huge heart and helps whoever she can, however she can. I've personally been on the receiving end of that. Thanks in advance for helping me help Summer and her family.
