Stand with Suzy: Overcome Cancer Together
Donation protected
Hi! If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting Suzy, you’ll know just how incredible she is. From being the PTO president in charge of the Fall Festivals at Pine Tree Elementary, the substitute school nurse for most Avon schools, an incredible Girl Scout leader for 2 different troops, a coach for AJAA; she has been a shining light in so many lives. She has always preached to “leave a place better than you found it” and she has truly lived by those words.
While doing all those amazing things, she has been suffering from so many medical issues that her doctors are constantly in awe of her. She was diagnosed with Lupus in 1993 and was told to get her affairs in order because she didn’t have much time left. Stubborn Suzy wouldn’t be defeated
When histoplasmosis created extensive scar tissue in her chest, rerouting her Superior Vena Cava and forcing her to have open-heart surgery, she didn’t let it stop her. When the scar tissue became too much and her heart became obstructed again, she still didn’t give up. There are so many more health issues that she has been fighting, but now she’s getting ready to face her biggest challenge yet. Cancer.
There is a large mass in her lungs, pushing against her esophagus and restricting her breathing and swallowing. They believe she also has liver metastasis and are concerned it could have traveled to her brain.
I am starting this GoFundMe to help ease some of the financial burden (gas, food, medication co-pays) but to also raise a little money to help Suzy make some amazing memories this summer with her grandkids. Her 3 grandsons are her world and I want them to be able to make some memories this summer, without the stress of financial constraints.
If you can’t donate, please share and send Suzy positive vibes and healing prayers
Thank you for taking the time to read this!
