Stand with Teresa in Her Battle for Health

Hello, my name is Candy Pauly and I am doing this fundraiser for my best friend, Teresa Freehauf Rodriguez. She went in for a normal hernia repair on Sept. 19, 2023 and it went wrong. She had dead skin and sutures open up about a week and a half later. As of right now, she has had a total of 8 surgeries, lost her job as a Special needs bus driver and still can not work due to having a wound vac on her at all times. She is in and out of the hospital monthly, it has taken a toll on her, her family and on their finances. She will be meeting with her doctors next week after another ct scan and they will decide what the plan will be moving forward. She has had many, many infections in her wound and has to do iv meds at home along with the hospital. The surgeons believe they will either have to open her up again to go in and take out the deep tissues that are infected or it will be a hole in her intestines and she will be on iv meds and fluids with no eating. She was told either way, it will be a long recovery. She is stressing out so much with the medical bills that she has to pay each time she goes to the doctors (which wound care is weekly, home nurse is twice a week, infectious disease is twice a month and then the surgeons visits) and the bills she has not been able to pay due to not working. Her husband works but it only helps so much, he works at a warehouse but does not get paid much. He can't change jobs now due to health insurance. She has one son living at home right now, he is 17 yrs old and has Autism. He is very close to her and is very upset over what she has been going through and what is to come. Everytime she goes into the hospital his tics come back stronger than ever, he will sit there and just pray to God that she will come back home.

Teresa is at a loss right now, she is overwhelmed with everything and i feel if we can help her with donations that would ease up some stress she has and she can concentrate on getting well.

Update:

The ct scan did not show any fistulas, so that great!! The dr along with her wound care team, wants to send her for a scan of her blood vessels to see if they are flowing the way they should be to her organs. She is still in pain most days but she is hanging in there. Will give another update after her next scan on the 19th. Thank you!!
