Stand with the Butlers in Their Fight
Donation protected
My name is Robert Butler and I’ve spent nearly 30 years in law enforcement. I served as a Lincoln Police Officer for 8.5 years and was on the Omaha Police Department for nearly 21.5 years. My plan was to always stay on longer, but a recent cancer diagnosis led me to an early retirement. In December 2023 I was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer (stage four - it has spread to my spine, hips, ribs, and lymph nodes). I have an ongoing battle ahead of me filled with chemotherapy, injections, numerous medications, and potentially radiation. The battle thus far has been filled with physical pain and numerous negative side effects. At home, I have three elementary-aged children whose lives have been impacted and will continue to be in unimaginable ways as a result. My wife is my rock and has continuously been caring for everyone while working through graduate school for occupational therapy. The most difficult part of the process is knowing that the diagnosis and its impact goes beyond me - my wife and children are tremendously impacted as well. With all off this comes an ongoing financial burden due to medications, treatment options, and expenses that are not covered by insurance. Your donation will have a direct impact on the Butler family and the journey we are now traveling. Thank you so much for reading our story and your support.
