Michael Eliott had a heart attack in Italy while he and Kate were leading a study abroad group, and Michael is still in a coma. Their young kids are with them.

On May 26th, just three days after commemorating their 15th wedding anniversary, Michael, beloved husband, and father, suffered a sudden heart attack while strolling through the serene gardens of Siena, Italy.

Michael was rushed to Siena's hospital, where resided in the intensive care unit, his heart stabilized, yet his breath still tethered to a machine. On 6/18/24, Michael was stable enough to be transferred back to the states, where he is surrounded by friends and family and don't have to rely on google translate to talk with the medical team.

Michael's wife Kate and children have to wait patiently, surrounded by the loving embrace of family, while they wait for him to take a breath on his own. Their strength is bolstered by the outpouring of prayers, love, and support from friends, near and far.
