Vicki's fight against cancer

Donation protected

Vicki Grindstaff has been diagnosed with Lung Cancer.
Non Small Cell Adenocarcinoma of her right lung.

Vicki recently visited the doctor to get a persistent cough checked out.
Shortly after that initial visit and some further testing, she was diagnosed with Non Small Cell Adenocarcinoma of her right lung.  (Lung Cancer)

Vicki will be seeing a surgeon on July 19th to determine if surgery is an option. Due to the location of the cancer,  there is a concern that surgery may not be an viable option.  According to the oncologist, without surgery, the prognosis is not good.

                                           .............................................................

My name is Ashley, I am one of Vicki's  daughters.
I'll be the one keeping you updated on her journey, here on this go fund me page.

My sisters and I have been blessed beyond measure to have Vicki as our Momma.  We've  grown up with a true example of what it looks like to live a life of love and service.   She is the real deal.  Our Momma is full of passion and love, and she  walks her talk  like no one else I've ever known.

She has spent her life giving of herself, and pouring into others at a measure that is unprecedented.
She's been an amazing mother + foster mother + a mother to so many that just needed a mother's love.
A missionary,  living for years in a foreign country. Sharing Jesus' love, and praying day and night for the those around her.
A strong woman, who has lead so many by her own great example.
The absolute best grandma (Gricky) her grandkids could ever hope for.  The list could go on and on...

For as long as I can remember our Mom has talked about being an old lady.  It's strange I know, but its true. She's dreamt of being a wild, red-headed, 90+ year old, Lover of Jesus!

We are praying that this is just a really crappy bump in the road.
We are believing, that with God, she can and will overcome this!
That she'll be here with us, as wild as ever,  20+ years from now.

For now, it is time for her to rest, take care of herself, and fight this disease!  While we rise up to support, encourage, pray for, and give back to her. Please partner with us.

If you know our mom, you know she is a strong woman.
If you know our Mom, you know where her strength comes from.
You better believe she won't go down without a fight.

Ways you can help:

1. Pray - We believe in a big God, and we believe in the power of prayer!

Here are some things that we would love for you to pray for:
-For complete healing.
-For the cough to stop. The cough that was initially an annoyance has become a horrible cough. It causes Vicki a lot of pain, and makes her quite tired and sore. As well as being a constant reminder of what she's going through. Please pray that she would get relief from this cough.
-For rest.
-For wisdom and discernment for Vicki and David through this extremely difficult time.
-For surgery to be an option.
-For supernatural wisdom for all of the doctors and health professionals that are caring for and advising Vicki.
-For any stress, fear, and anxiety, to be gone.
-For the PEACE that passes understanding.
-For David. David is also dealing with some health issues that started to arise the same week Vicki was diagnosed. David has had a lot of tests done and we are waiting on his official diagnosis. Please keep David's health in your prayers as well.

2. Donate Financially

As you can imagine the bills have already started to roll in, much of which will not be covered under Vicki's current medical plan.

Vicki is having several appointments a week, between oncologists, respiratory specialists (she was also just diagnosed with asthma), all kinds of testing, as well as a naturopathic doctor.

Vicki  is not able to work anymore and David is spending the majority of his time between his own doctors appointments and taking care of Vicki.

Our goal with this go fund me is to support Vicki and David, by trying to relieve some of the financial burden that is rolling in.
We want Vicki to be able to get the treatment she needs during this time without ever hesitating because of the cost.

3. Please share this link with your friends and family.
Especially the ones who know Vicki. She has friends literally all over the world, and there is no way for me to contact them all on my own, but if you share with the friends of hers that you know, and they share etc. hopefully together we can contact them all.

I speak for our whole family when I say Thank You!
We are so thankful for your prayers and your support during time.
