Sacramento: Stand with Victims of Antisemitic Violence
Donation protected
I am raising money through Betar Sacramento, an organization dedicated to the safety of the Jewish people. I attended a Palestinian rally today, Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 16th and J Street in Sacramento, from 11 am - 2 pm. I was there with my friend, a Christian Zionist, and his wife and child. At around 1 pm, my friend was tackled from behind, smashed to the concrete, and choked. They stole his Israeli flag, tore his pants, and broke his expensive glasses. He left the scene limping and bleeding. He is was released from the hospital with a deep abrasion to his leg, cuts and bruises around his neck from being strangled, a painful sprain on his foot, a contusion on his head and cuts to his face. His wife and young son were present, and are traumatized. The police were not at the rally. They only showed up after my friend was assaulted. Numerous people watched and did not intervene, even though they call themselves "peaceful." This includes a large contingent from "Jewish Voices for Peace."
We need to raise money for my friend's medical bills, to replace his property and to assist his wife and young son who are very traumatized.
We are actively working to raise press awareness of this horrible event, ensure that all the perpetrators are arrested, not just the one that they caught at the scene, get accountability from the City of Sacramento as to why there were no police at the rally, and to have this crime investigated by the FBI, and charged as a hate crime by the FBI and/or Sacramento DA.
