Stand with Ward Galarneau's Family in Need

Donation protected
Ward Galarneau has been in the hospital since April 10, 2024. He went through blood and urine tests, x-ray, ultrasound, and a contrast abdominal and pelvic CT scan to find out what was wrong. Part of the problem is a septic kidney stone, which required him to go into emergency surgery to have a Stint placed. The surgery went well and he is on IV antibiotics to help fight the infection. A second surgery is planned for 3 to 4 weeks from now to remove the stone once the infection is gone.

The doctors also suspect something else is causing this severe infection as his white blood cell count is 27 (normal range is 3 to 14) and his red platelet count is low (he may require a blood transfusion). The family is still waiting to find out the cause as the doctors continue to rule things out.

Ward is still very sick, but he is strong and is fighting this.

This isn't the only struggle this family is facing. Both Ward and Andrea lost their jobs back in November when the company they were working for moved to a totally different city. They have been struggling ever since. Andrea was lucky to get an awesome job recently, but Ward has been sick on and off with kidney and other infections since late October, so he hasn't been well enough to work for a long time.

This page has been set up to help support Ward's family while they cope through these difficult weeks. Ward lives with his wife, Andrea, their 2 children, son Alexander and daughter Jordan, as well as their granddaughter, Katheryn.

He also has 2 adult sons and many other grand children praying for his fast recovery.

We would like to help Andrea and their kids with this financial relief so that they may be there for Ward at the hospital and still be able to take care of everything while he is in the hospital.

Thank you in advance for your help and support. I know it means the world to them.

Update April 13/24

Last night, Ward's fever spiked again, and they have him under 48 hour watch (I still don't understand what that means). But they are continuing to do more tests to figure out the other cause of infection. They switched him this morning to a different IV antibiotic so hopefully they are starting to narrow it down a bit.

He is very grateful to all of you for your concern and prayers. ❤️
