Stand with William Bowman in Tough Times

Hi everyone, My name is Derek, and I'm here reaching out for any assistance for my father William Bowman. This is something that we as a family were trying to avoid doing, as we know times are tough for everyone.

As many of you who see this may know already, William served his community as a Deputy, Sgt and ending with Lieutenant, for 26 years, which came to an end in March 2024.

To give some context of what brought us to creating this fundraiser. Allow me to take you back a few years to 2021. In 2021, Willie suffered a back injury. This back injury caused complications up until even now, resulting in interference with work. It put him out of work for about a year. Still had complications and multiple Doctor appointments, back injections, abrasion surgeries, etc. To this day, the pain is still unbearable and the injections and abrasion surgery have not helped. In December of 2023, he simply stepped out of his vehicle going to the store and tore his Achilles, which put him out of work again, whilst already missing a lot of work due to surgeries and the doctor's office not releasing him after a certain amount of time to return to work, despite him wanting to go in anyway. With the massive amount of time missed, no time to use, countless doctor appointments, and therapy sessions, he got extremely behind on bills. From December to March of 2024, he hasn't received any income due to not having any comp or sick time to soak up all the days he missed cause of medical issues. This has put him in an extremely difficult position. Willie was to retire in August of 2024, he was so close to retirement. He had to make a decision and the best decision was to file for medical disability. He retired early his final day being on March 31st, 2024. He has been fighting with them to get the medical documentation, paperwork, and everything to support the disability he filed for. Still currently awaiting approval and receiving some income. He is relying on a 4-500 dollar paycheck from his wife's income. He is on the verge of losing his house, and his vehicles, the power was shut off and my grandmother, his mother, lives with them and is on oxygen which she needs the power to run her oxygen machine. My Son goes to their house 2-3 days a week to spend time with them, and they won't have power there.

**Edit**

The goal amount is to get just caught up enough to keep his house car and get his electricity and other bills caught up just enough to buy him some time, as long as he has the roof over his head, electricity and a vehicle to try to find some odd jobs and get to his appointments.

Long story, with many details I could write a book about, it took everything in him to get the courage to allow me to do this fundraiser. I'm looking for anybody, who can assist in reaching the goal, to get his house caught up, the power turned back on, his vehicle payment paid, food, gas, co-payments to continue to be seen by the doctor, everything. I can't stand to sit back and watch everything my parents sacrificed and worked over 26 years for, be taken away over the hardships of life. They have always stayed on top of things and helped others more than asking for help. My father dedicated 26 years of his life, to serving his community, and I've seen him do things for others that made me respect him as much as I do now, he earned every bit of the recognition he gets, every time I see someone he worked with or knows, they always tell me how highly they think of him and how much they respect him and love him. You couldn't ask for a better person. However, desperate times call for desperate measures. He needs a miracle and with the power of God, Family, and friends, I have faith we can get his life back on track just enough so he can get back on his feet. On his behalf, from me and my family, We all appreciate any assistance.

Your impact will go directly towards payments, bills to keep his house, get the electricity turned back on in the home and keep a vehicle to get to appointments. The appointments are necessary for documentation to support his disability approval. At no point are any funds that are raised, used for anything other than these necessities.

Thank you for your time.

Thank you in advance

God bless.
