Hi! We are Dr. Bobby and Eric Hardin Miller, co-chairs of Standing Out in Our Field 7. Standing Out in Our Field is the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine’s largest fundraiser, which raises much-needed scholarship funds for our medical students. BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP – medical students are facing debt upwards of $200,000 as they begin their careers. We are also facing a doctor shortage in America--one that will likely most impact rural communities throughout West Virginia and the country. Reducing medical school debt allows a future physician to select a field and location based on their interest without the pressure of paying off their debt.
