Stand with Shawn Savoie

This fundraising campaign was created to help Shawn Savoie with his fight against Esophageal Cancer.
For the past eight years, it has been a common occurance from 3-11 p.m. to hear a voice ring throughout the empty halls of Millbury High School. With a Dunkin coffee in hand, and that voice, you have to know it belongs to a very special friend of everyone. Shawn has done far more than clean the rooms and halls of our school. He has become a fixture to the faculty, students, and even parents especially those participating in after school activities including, but not limited to, athletics and the performing arts.
Whether it is to fix a game clock, pull the bleachers out, help with something in the auditorium, or fill his truck with chairs last minute to save the day carting them across town before a concert in July, he is always there. To cheer us on in our sporting events and games. To clap and watch our concerts and plays. To lend an ear for a staff member to talk to, or to listen to a student that had a bad day, or is struggling at home. Not only is he great at his job, he is even better at everything else. He is a tremendous role model for the students, and adults with his work ethic and positive attitude. I know I am a better person for simply knowing him. One of the token phrases that has been passed around the Millbury Public School System as of lately is, "Students come first". I cannot think of anyone I know that embodies this better.
Now is the time for us to return the favor and be there for him, when he and his family need it most. Please "Stand with Shawn" and help him with his battle against Cancer. He is not alone, as every faculty member and student of Millbury High School is on his side cheering him on.
