Stanley Patterson memorial

Dear Friends and Family,

I am writing to you to let you know about the loss of our dad Stanley Patterson on 04/30/24.

Stanley was born in Graham County, North Carolina to the late Dewey and Mabel Colvard Patterson. He spent his young adult life working with his father building tunnels for roads throughout the area. Then moved back to the area finding a job at Baker Furniture for over 40 years. After retirement, he worked over ten years at Wal-Mart as a greeter and loved the social aspects of the job. Stanley enjoyed watching sports and old westerns, socializing at Hardee's for breakfast, driving the roads everyday and reading. He also loved his family, his friends and his cat Nosy. His family attended Bear Creek Baptist Church and Old Mother Church through his life.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Sonja Patterson Crisp.

He is survived by his wife, Eula Gregory Patterson; his sons, Ethan Patterson and Stephan Patterson (Manuela); his daughters, Jill Hughes (Doug) and Cynthia Patterson; his seven grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Bear Creek Baptist Church prior to the funeral service proceeding.

Stanley started his cancer battle about 6 years ago and after a lot of T.L.C. almost came out of it 100% enjoying life again and driving/walking just as good as he previously had. However, last year the cancer returned with a vengeance and we did everything we could to keep him going for as long as we could. Following a hospital visit he entered Nursing home care December 2023 and struggled from that point.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the costs of funeral and medical expenses. Our dad had the "I'm going to be fine" mentality and had no planning whatsoever. Which did keep him strong and pushing on for so many years.
