My Little brother Stanley’s Cancer story

UPDATE 04.10.24
We are overwhelmed with the support and love Stanley has received and we cannot thank you all enough. Stanley underwent an 11 hour operation on Monday 30/10 in which the surgeons were able to remove over 2/3 of the tumour. He is currently in the intensive care unit as we are still waiting for him to wake up from the surgery but the doctors have advised that due to the nature of the operation it may take a while for him to fully come around. He may also require a few other minor surgeries to help with recovery, radiotherapy to remove the final parts of the tumour and faces a very long and slow recovery but hopefully he can continue being as strong as he has been already.
On 23rd May we took Stanley to a & e as he was having some problems with his balance and speech.
He had a CT scan that showed a mass in his brain, we were taken by ambulance to a specialist brain hospital in Angers.
After having an MRI it was confirmed that the tumour was in the cerebral fluid under his brain.
An operation was carried out on 6th June to do a biopsy of the mass and he was kept in intensive care for 2 weeks after the procedure.
It was confirmed that it was a malignant tumour. The cancer he has is extremely rare with only 20 known cases worldwide.
Consultants and specialists worldwide had a conference and it was decided that chemotherapy was the best first course of action to undertake, with hope that it will shrink the mass. If this does not work then he will have to have a major operation to try and remove as much of the mass as possible. Because of the awkward position of the tumour the operation will be very complex. On 16.9.24 we were told he now has a build up of fluid on the brain and therefore had an operation to remove this fluid. Due to the pressure of the tumour, it is putting on Stanley's brain he has severe mobility and speech issues and also problems with his eyes.
The reason for creating this go fund me is to allow Stanley to be able to treat himself and buy himself things to enjoy once he is better.
Any donations greatly appreciated
