Hello, my name is Stan Moore and never in a million years would I have imagined I’d have to do this. On the afternoon of July 8th, I made a wrong turn and hit a low hanging tree limb in my yard. I barely remember getting on my motorcycle that day and remember nothing else until I awoke in the Vanderbilt trauma unit a day later. The impact caused a severe concussion to my head and broke my neck. By God’s grace, a woman and her children noticed my accident and stopped to call for help.
Against all odds, the staff and doctor’s at Vanderbilt were able to repair my neck after four hours of emergency surgery. The fact that I lived to talk again and wasn’t paralyzed for life was, as one doctor remarked, “truly a miracle.” With titanium rods and screws in my neck, I continue on and deal with pain in my upper back that goes from dull to stabbing in nature.
There was a chance that the Stage 4 prostate cancer I’ve been battling could have weakened the bones in my neck. In March of 2019, I was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer (Stage 4). Since then, I’ve done my best to fight it and God has allowed me to live longer than expected. The costs of that battle continue as the bills for my recent accident pile on. The loss of work from the accident and recovery has also increased the burden.
The long journey ahead for my healing in my neck and my cancer continues as I fight on.
Now, under the most unfortunate circumstances, I must ask you for your help.
I created this page in the hopes of helping to alleviate the financial impact that comes along with my accident and my cancer. If you can’t contribute financially, please share this with your network. It will be very helpful.
I am grateful for your support and love, and blessed that I’m still fighting to be here with all of you. Please do not feel pity for me or feel obligated to make a monetary donation, but please… keep me in your prayers.
