Help Stan's family
My dad had a tumor in his spine and fought cancer for 17+ years. He fought with humor, a great attitude, tons of family support, three surgeries and more radiation than any human should ever have.
Sadly, he lost his battle in October of 2016. Sorry it's taken me a while to update this page (I did send an update), but this is hard to write. It was much easier to talk about what a fighter my dad is and how hopeful we were.
We started this GoFundMe when he had trouble walking. We wanted to raise money to help pay for medical equipment, chemo, a power wheelchair, ceiling lift and accesible van. Unfortunately, my dad started the chemo and then started having trouble swallowing. He couldn't eat or even drink water for weeks. Then he started having trouble talking and breathing. This was all so hard, especially since dad wanted to keep telling us jokes, and kept making us laugh even on his last day when he could barely talk.
He was a stand-up comedian! And a good one! Stan Silliman was voted the funniest person in OKC! Through all his battles with cancer he kept on making us laugh. When he lost the use of his right hand, he added jokes about it to his routine. His initial walking troubles led to zombie jokes. Listen here and laugh!:
Now, this GoFundMe is for my mom. Nothing can bring my dad back. But the support you all have given us through this campaign certainly encouraged my dad and has helped alleviate some of the financial stress we've been under. We miss him so much. Now we have have to deal with the financial aftermath that his loss causes, as well as the emotional one. 
I've revised the goal accordingly. (From $64k to $18k.)
This has already helped cover some of the medical equipment we bought , medicine and home healthcare workers we hired. We hope this can still help pay for bills we'll receive for chemo and other healthcare. Anything left over will help cover funeral costs and some of the financial issues my mom is facing. (The amount for that is still unknown.)
Everything -- especially your kind words and love for dad -- helps lift her spirit and mine.
