Stanton Family Adoption

"We Stantons have officially begun our journey to adopt a sweet baby with Down syndrome!!
⠀
From the moment we got Piper's diagnosis, we felt this strange sense of peace. We that precious child with in us, and we were not afraid or disappointed about what or who she would become. At 26 weeks, when she got diagnosed with leukemia and the fight for her life began, I remember sitting in the hospital bed at Galisano Children's, and feeling this desire growing deep within my soul. It was a quiet whisper at first, but in that moment I knew ... ", ." ⠀
⠀
After we lost our perfect Pip, even (and especially) through my grief, the Lord impressed this calling so firmly upon my heart that the whisper grew louder and louder until it was all but impossible to ignore. " , , . , , ." Okay, so I totally didn't hear God say that out loud, but in my spirit, I can hear Him loud and clear. I just know. I know He has fashioned another Stanton baby from someone else's DNA, a precious child with an extra special chromosome, created specifically to be a part of our crew. ⠀
He has made it abundantly clear to me that family has so little to do with flesh and blood, and everything to do with . So although we do not yet know you, little one, we want you to know that we love you, we value you, and we will for you, just like we fought for your big sis ❤⠀
⠀
May this journey honor your life, my irreplaceable Piper. Thank you for stirring our hearts to love." ⠀
That was the text to what I had posted back in August, announcing that we were adopting. SO much has happened since then, and we now know that we have a precious baby boy who will be joining our family at birth in January!! We are with an amazing agency in Rochester, NY and are nearly finished with our home study!
Private domestic adoption of a newborn is quite pricey, as many of you may know! We anticipate our total costs to be around $30-40,000! To raise funds, I have been making personalized name bracelets, but as a one man circus, I can only produce as many bracelets as my hands can find time to string together!
I have been asked over and over again if we have a GoFundMe page for people to donate to, so I figure that I should just
bite the bullet and get one up and running! Unfortunately, there is no way to make donations tax deductible through this platform, but if that is at all important to you, let me know and I can send you another option for a tax note!
We can not put into words how thankful we are, to ALL of you who have helped us in our journey not only to adopt this sweet baby boy, but also to have loved and lost our precious baby girl, Piper Joy. You all stood in the gap for us and carried us when we could not even see through the cloud of our grief to take the next step. We love you all more than you know. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU! We absolutely can't wait to introduce you all to our baby boy, so soon!
