Star Cancer Journey
Donation protected
My name is Sabrina Aguilar I am starting this Fundraiser for my Daughter Star Aguilar.
Here’s a look at her Cancer journey:
My Daughter had been complaining about her tummy hurting so I took her in to get it checked out and after so many appointments doctors consistently told me that she’s okay. One day at daycare I noticed she wasn’t moving or playing with the other kids so I left work instantly to take my daughter to the ER where they ran tests to see what’s going on. I received a call to come in and talk about the results with the doctor, when i was told that they see something growing and recommended that i went straight to the hospital to run more tests. What i heard next shocked me, my daughter had a tumor the size of a grapefruit on her kidney. The tumor was called a Wilmis tumor and unfortunately, the tumor was too big to remove from her little body so they diagnosed Star with stage 3 cancer. The word, cancer, through my whole world upside down. As a parent, you never want to believe this could happen to your kids. Her tumor was growing at a rapid pace so the doctors removed some of her tumor to get tested. The tumor was beginning to damage Star’s right kidney and I knew the long journey that was going to lie ahead. After numerous doctors appointments and being in the hospital for 3 weeks, the tumor was finally starting to get smaller. On March 8th, the doctors made the decision to remove the tumor since it wasn’t as big anymore; however, chemotherapy and radiation are now needed in order for Star to get better and as a mom, that’s all I want for her.
However, I, unfortunately, lost my job due to the many times I’ve had to be in the hospital alone with my daughter while she gets better. I tried hard to make ends meet with my job to keep it; however, this situation wasn’t viewed as an emergency, so I was let go. On top of that, I am going through a divorce that hasn’t been easy for me to deal with. I am now left to pay many of my bills on my while raising two daughters with no help. I have tried utilizing many resources and services to get some financial assistance and even enrolled Star in some programs to help kids with cancer, but I am barely making ends meet. Aside from raising Star and taking on this journey with her, I have my other daughter Kahlani who also has medical needs that I need to tend to alone.
I am a single mom who has been tackling this journey with Star alone and will do anything to make my daughter's life better and happier. For that reason, I am reaching out to receive any help or assistance through this GoFundMe. Anything is appreciated, big or small, and I thank you for taking the time to read about our journey.
