Starfish Boats in Sea Isle City, NJ
Donation protected
The Starfish has been owned and operated out of Sea Isle City, NJ for over 70 years and is a beloved staple of the community. Yesterday, July 11th, the boat was involved in a mishap causing severe damage and partial sinking. The boat is now inoperable for an indefinite period of time, and unfortunately, at the height of their busy summer season. Thanks to the experience and professionalism of the captain and crew, all passengers made it home safely without injury.
I have known Capt Bob and his family since I was a kid. I celebrated my sweet 16, mom's 60th birthday party, and countless fishing and party trips over the years on board the Starfish. After reading many of the posts and comments from others who have had similar experiences, it is clear that the Starfish and it's crew are an important piece of Sea Isle and Cape May County community and history.
Many have reached out to ask if they can help, and I wanted to organize a place for those who wish to do so knowing they have lost their livelihood during what should be the height of their season. Funds will help cover bills and crew until the dust settles and the next steps foward are determined. If you have any good memories of your time on the Starfish, please share your stories and consider a small donation to help them through this tragic loss.
