Stark Son's Medical Expense

Hello, we are starting this GoFundMe to help support one of our dearest tennis friends, Charlotte. For those of you that may know Charlotte in or outside the tennis community, her youngest son Patton has become unexpectedly ill. Charlotte and her husband Hunter noticed that Patton was becoming sick with a high fever in mid-January. Charlotte then noticed that he was falling at home and lost the use of his left arm. She immediately took him to Sacred Heart Children's Hospital and was admitted and diagnosed with Viral Spinal Meningitis. His symptoms worsened, not being able to stand and then unexpectedly, Sacred Heart sent them home. With a second opinion from the Children's Neurology Clinic in Gulf Breeze, FL, they immediately sent them to UAB Children's Hospital in Birmingham, AL. He had to have four days of I.V.I.G therapy and undergo more testing. They found him to have Guillain-Barre Syndrome. He is now improving, and they are on their ninth day of being hospitalized. Patton will need further rehabilitation to get him back to his usual active three-year-old self. Unfortunately, doctors say that it could take weeks, months, or years to recover fully. We pray sooner than later. We, her tennis family, learned that their health insurance deductible is $10,000, not to mention all of the travel expenses the family has incurred and will continue to incur.
