Starr-Ella you have flown so high….so high… against the sky…..like your pet beetle and superman…..they fly so high…..our hearts were not ready..…to say goodbye.

Our stunning and precious Starr-Ella was suddenly and unexpectedly snatched away too soon, leaving behind a beautiful family – Adorable 3 ½ month old baby Zackery she shares with his daddy her partner Roy, her four older children, Paxton, Colton, Maryann, and Olivea.

Roy heard the devastating news while working in Sudan. This has shook our family to the core. He has needed to quit his overseas job so that he can stay with baby Zackery and take care of him.
We are thankful for the months Baby Zackery had with his momma. It was beautiful watching them together. He was already talking up a storm and cooing to his momma and poppa. His personality shining! Winning over everyone with his love and trust.  As we hold him now in our arms and comfort him our hearts ache that he will never know his momma.

There is an intense and bonding love between Starr-Ella and her older children. It's so impacting and special! They are all unique and brought such life to her. She knew they loved her and there's nothing she wouldn't do for them.

We pray for deep imprints, like fingerprints on their souls, of their mother’s love. She will never be forgotten. Each one of them were the apple of her eye. She was so proud of them. They were her world! They are beautiful, cherished gifts that she has given to our family.
She was the most loving person. Even when she was exhausted she would help and support others who were in need. She had a gift of compassion and empathy and everyone who had the honour of spending time in her presence felt it.

Starr-Ella never did anything “traditional”. The very thing we loved about her was that she is a wildflower. She stood out in a crowd no matter what. She didn’t have to try. She would just step into a room and she would SHINE!! Her bright life and light touched so many hearts.
This past year was a season of new beginnings. She moved to Calgary, began a new relationship, spent quality time with her older children, had renewed space to be creative with new songs, poems and her art. She was so excited to start using tin shelves as her photo canvas and already had them at the print shop ready to be printed, she had personal business cards made. The anticipation of her first art show filled many conversations.

In Starr-Ella’s 42 years she accomplished much! A published photography book with her original poems, an album showcasing her original songs, a website portraying her photography art and an upcoming gallery art show all share glimpses of her sparkling talent. She was a lead singer in a band, a bistro owner who created her own recipes. She started a second-hand store and ran a photo booth. She was also a community social-worker with a heart and voice for women who had their children taken away. Her voice at times echoed across various talk shows. She stood up for what she believed in. We celebrate her in so many ways! She was an empowering woman.
This will be a huge transition emotionally and financially. Funds are needed immediately to help with funeral costs, living costs, diapers and formula for Zackery, and housing. Please consider donating to this courageous family during this unexpected and difficult turn of events. Please also consider sharing this link on any social media platform. Your care and concern at this time is so greatly needed and appreciated!
