Starrs Plain Sisters and Mama Fundraiser

Update: I’m honestly blown away by everyone’s kindness. Thank you SO MUCH! I’ve been doing kitten and cat rescues, adoption counseling and fostering for 4 years now and have never seen anything like this! You guys are BEYOND INCREDIBLE!! Anything that goes over the initial amount will go towards future kitten & cat rescues, vet bills, litter and food. THANK YOU so much!!!! ‍

On the night of June 26, 2023, a vile individual dumped 3 kittens and their mother. They left them on a bumpy rest area on the edge of a swamp on Starrs Plain Road. The first kitten, a beautiful jet black kitten, I named Waubeeka Hope, did not survive despite Dr. Chris Elson and his team’s best efforts. We were devastated. The second kitten, another girl, was found late at night by a Ridgefield couple. I was contacted and got there minutes later to find a small black kitten with brown highlight. She was drenched. I brought her home and gave her a warm bath. The amount of fleas, dirt, dead fleas and ticks that came off her was astounding. Thankfully, she’s improving and growing everyday. The next morning, her sister, a tiny tabby was trapped.

Eventually all 3 kittens and their mother were caught. One kitten sadly passed away. The rest of the family needs vet care, a series of kitten shots, shots for mama, ringworm/fungal treatment, dry food, wet food, litter, all need to be spayed (when it’s safe to do so) and sadly, mama cat has a lot of terrible mouth issues from neglect. Her mouth is filled with ulcers, inflammation, wiggly teeth and she’s in pain. Sadly, both vets advised that she will probably need all her teeth removed. Please consider helping me help them.
