Support Our Elementary School Band

My name is Sarah Latimer and I direct the band at a K-8 elementary school in Chicago. Band is truly a special opportunity for our students. It serves as a creative outlet for self-expression and offers the unique chance to learn an instrument not typically available in general music classes.

More than just music, band fosters confident and collaborative musicians. It nurtures patient, persevering learners and cultivates joy through the shared experience of making music. These are life-changing skills that will benefit our students no matter where their paths lead.

To top it off, band provides a safe, welcoming, and fun space for students to explore their creativity and connect with a community that shares a common passion.

Between our first and second year, the number of band members nearly doubled—a clear sign of the impact and excitement this program brings. With your support, we can continue to grow and reach even more young musicians.
