Fund an Apprentice at the Host Community Café.
Hi I am Liz the Host Café Manager, thank you for reading.
The Host Café at St. Luke's, Portsmouth is seeking funding for a new apprenticeship scheme designed to empower young people with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the hospitality industry. Our café will provide a welcoming environment where apprentices will receive barista training, customer service skills development, and hands-on experience.
Located in a deprived ward of Portsmouth, St Luke’s Church has developed close ties with the community and has recognised the need to help local young people, who often lack the confidence and skills necessary to gain employment. Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where apprentices can gain a Level 2 Hospitality qualification through our partnership with the local college.
As a new café venture, we require funding for the first six months to support the apprentice. While we establish our income stream. £5000 would enable us to support one young person for six months as we launch our brand new community café.
Portsmouth City Council has awarded us a grant to allow for the refurbishment of the space, and Awards for All have also supported us with staffing costs. Help us complete the picture. All profits from the Host Café will be invested back in the local community.
Join us in investing in the future of our community's young people!
