Start with One Family - The Darawsheh Family
Donation protected
The great need in the world can make it difficult to know where to start. We often become paralyzed, ending up doing nothing.
Instead, start with One. One family, the Darawshehs, are refugees in Jordan (having fled Syria), in constant jeopardy, virtual prisoners in their apartment, denied work, schooling, and any semblance of security. Our goal is to reunite them with their relatives in the Cowichan Valley. They are the Ghunaims, here 3 years, safe and thriving at work, home, and school. Both families with young children waiting to hug their cousins again.
Give the Darawshehs - Barah and Abdullah, and their two young daughters and infant son - the chance for a real future, to grow and learn and live with basic human dignity and in peace. To build a new life here in Canada, where these two little girls can grow up in safety and with the opportunity to be anything they want to be, to go to school, to be free to live. Where their new little baby brother, will grow up in safety and surrounded by his loving parents, sisters, cousins, aunt and uncle.
Through the Private Sponsorship Program and under the auspices of the Cowichan Intercultural Society, and with a little help from the community, together we can make this happen.
We’re very grateful for your help which will create a new future for Barah, Abdullah and their three young children.
