Starting Over: A New Beginning for Me and My Son

Hello, my name is Matilda, and I am a mother to a beautiful 4-month-old boy. I am reaching out today because I desperately need your help to start a new life for me and my son. We have been through so much already, and I'm hoping that with your support, we can build a better, safer future together.

Just a few months ago, I was living in an abusive relationship, trapped in a situation where my partner controlled every aspect of my life, including our finances. I felt completely powerless and unable to escape. Leaving was terrifying, but I knew that for my son's sake, I had to break free. I packed a suitcase with only the essentials for me and my baby and left with nothing else. I didn't have any money saved up because he had control over it all. I couldn't tell anyone about my plans or seek help beforehand, because I knew he would never let me go if he found out.

Today, I am living in a women's shelter with my son. It's a safe place, but it's not where we can stay long-term. I had to relocate to a new city for my safety, which means I don't have any family or close friends here to help me. I'm trying to find a new apartment for us but I'm facing so many obstacles. I need to pay for the deposit, rent, bus fair, daycare and other expenses like furniture, baby essentials, and groceries. The job I just got won't pay me until the end of January, and until then, I'm left without the funds to cover any crucial needs.

I am working hard to rebuild my life, and I'm determined to make this work for my son. He is my number one priority. Every decision I make is for him, because I want him to grow up in a safe, loving, and supportive environment. He deserves so much more than the chaos and fear of his early life. I want to give him a happy childhood, free from the trauma of abuse.

Starting over is incredibly difficult, but I won't give up. I'll do whatever it takes to create a better future for my son. But right now, I need help.
