Dear people,
My name is Anne Marie de Haan from the Netherlands.
Two years ago I met these lovely art students from Port-au-Prince, who wanted to go on a study trip. Rony Elistene, one of these promising students has graduated and became an art teacher himself and he is starting an art school in Port-au-Prince.
Rony says: “My art school currently contains 33 students and I have divided them into two groups. The first group contains 22 students and the second group contains 11 students. I work with the first group on Thursday and Friday, and the second group on Saturday and Sunday. I cannot work with the two groups together because where I work with the children it is not mine, it is in front of a house that belongs to a friend. I can't close the whole space, my friend allows me to stay until I find money to rent a Local but there are many other children who want to enter my art school. I tell them that they have to wait, as soon as I have the money to rent a Local, they can enter. But I don't have the money yet to rent a Local, at the moment I don't even have the money to buy chairs for the children to sit down to work, that's the reason why the children work they sit on pieces of blackberry. I haven't bought any new gear yet what I had is almost sold out. My main problem is the local.”
Please donate to this fundraiser, so young teacher Rony can fulfill his dream to teach young art students. The money will be spend on the local and art supplies for the children.
