Team Members, Simon Lemon, Matt Inglsby, Steve Dredge have backgrounds in the Military and Police.
They have come together to complete a number of significant endurance challenges to raise funds and awareness of two charities which are close to our hearts.
They will be running the 120k Great Glen way in 24hrs, Swimming the English Channel, as part of an ‘Ultimate Triathlon’, Rowing 3000 Miles across the Atlantic Ocean, in the 2022 Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge Race and Climbing Mont Blanc to fly from its summit on paragliders.
But why?
StatusCode14 is a UK Police national radio request call used when the sender requires an urgent call back, help or assistance.
Have you ever had to make an emergency call for help? If you have, you will have been assisted by one of the many calm and courageous police officers, paramedics, fire officers and staff who dedicate their lives to keeping others safe.
But what about the staff behind those emergency calls? They are routinely exposed to distressing and traumatic incidents, alongside demanding workload pressures. Stress and PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) is now well recognised within the military community, but the Police, Ambulance and Fire Services are increasingly falling further behind. Who is there to help them?
Team Status Code 14 want to enable those who ‘press the button’ to get the help they need both with stress in the short and long term. Funds raised from our challenges will go to our first aligned charity, Rock2Recovery who support the cause, to help individuals who may not be able to access the support they need through what’s offered by the emergency services.https://rock2recovery.co.uk/
Opening up and asking for help and accessing support services leads us on to our second charity. The Chestnut Appeal for Mens Health, a small South West based charity that helps men through the treatment and recovery process of male cancers. https://chestnutappeal.org.uk/
When it comes to men’s cancer, most men don’t know what’s normal and what’s abnormal – and are afraid to ask.
This has got to change. Prostate, penile and testicular cancer can be checked and successfully treated – but checking needs to become a habit and talking about it and educating men is paramount. Team Status Code 14 want to raise awareness of men’s cancer and that a regular check could potentially save a life.

They want to make sure that 100% of the money donated to our charities gets to them, that's why we have chosen 'gofundme', because of its 0% commission platform policy.
When when making a donation please comment 'charity' or 'challenge' in the message option.
For us to complete these challenges there is a financial cost, we are actively working with our aligned corporate partnerships and company sponsorship to cover this, however if you would like to help us, Swim the 22 miles across the English channel, run the 206 Miles across Iceland, row the 3000miles across the Atlantic Ocean or climb the 15,780ft to the summit of Mont Blanc please mark your donations 'challenge' and you will helping us to complete those challenges.
Thank you from Team StatusCode14.
