Fundraiser for short film, Stay Close to Me

The Project

I'm Josh Pearson, a local filmmaker based in Kansas City. I have started this campaign to build funds for the upcoming short narrative film, Stay Close to Me, which I'll be planning to shoot this June.

The story I want to tell is the one I could not escape from after a difficult thought process a couple of years ago. The story is about a young housewife being stalked by a mysterious stranger who threatens to shatter her existence. So, it's a psychological thriller with horror vibes. More like mother! meets The Sixth Sense. I began writing the screenplay back in March and finally had it completed in May. Now, I'm currently in the pre-production process. This includes recruiting and teaming with fun-filled cast/crew members, gathering film equipment, location scouting, and so on.

Co-producer, Gabriel Bartholome, and I are building this fundraiser to help cover what is needed for the production team to help tell this story. All donations will go directly to:

• Location rentals

• Props

• Make-up

• Costumes

• Catering for cast and crew on set

• Health and home coverage

• Film festival submissions
