Stay Cool Swim Cold Challenge 2022
Donation protected
Well, the 4th of December is coming up, so of course you’re thinking of putting on a bathing suit and getting yourself into the water.
To celebrate Koady’s 38th birthday, 9 years sober anniversary and honour the every-day-in-December swims he did in 2021, we’re having a group cold swim this Sunday at The Fiddling Fisherman Lookout in Souris, at 2PM. We're raising money for the Mi'kmaq Family Resource Centre and the Tibetan Children's Village, two organisations we know Koady would love to support.
Arrive at 2PM, dip at 2:15PM and then some cake and hot apple cider and hot chocolate afterwards – all over by 3:30PM.
It doesn’t matter if you knew Koady well, you can come along, he wanted everyone to get the benefits of a cold swim! The feeling you have after a cold dip is unbelievable, and if you don’t believe us, check out Koady’s videos on The East Pointers’ socials last from this time last year.
Hot Tips for the best Cold Swim: bring a pair of old sneakers to protect your feet a little, don’t put your hands or your head in the water straight away, and bring warm socks and rubber boots to quickly and easily put on afterwards.
Koady dipped every day in December 2021, and some of us will be doing that behind the scenes! We might give updates on those dips from time to time....
If you can't make it, we'd love your help reaching our goal.
We love you Koady.
