Steamy Compost Calendar

Composting is the hottest trend in watching dead stuff decay into dirt! And if you're into composting, which of course you are or soon will be, there's nothing hotter than a steaming pile of compost.

Why does compost steam? The answer is also hot! In a compost pile with a proper ratio of carbon, nitrogen, moisture, air, and vibes, microbes are hard at work breaking everything down by eating it, excreting waste, and having incredible amounts of sex with each other and themselves. All this action raises the temperature of a compost pile, which, when the surrounding air is colder, can produce a very satisfying plume of steam.

Composters love seeing this because it means the compost is cookin'! And so, with the support of the upright citizens of r/composting on Reddit, where compost steam pics are often passed around like the Victoria's Secret catalog, we seek to create a calendar of the hottest steaming compost piles to get you through the year.

The calendar will be produced and shipped as inexpensively as possible, using submitted and credited imagery from Reddit and wherever else hot compost may be found.
The fundraising goal of $1500 should cover printing, packing, and shipping 100 calendars. A donation of $15 guarantees a calendar will be shipped to you inside the United States, or $25 to be shipped outside the United States. If you want more than one calendar, reach out and let me know how many and we'll figure out an appropriate cost. We can always print more calendars if we somehow sell out. Any donations in excess of the print + pack + ship costs will be donated to a TBD composting-related nonprofit.
Do you have a steamy compost pic for the calendar? Use the contact link below to let me know. Feel free to reach out with any other questions or suggestions as well. Thank you!
