Steenbeke Family Tragedy
Our dear long-time friends, the Steenbeke family, lost a Lioness today--Dorothy’s sister Candy Ziakas passed away after a sudden series of strokes that began last Thursday. And while we are all mourning her absence, there are additional devastating ripple effects: Candy was the primary caretaker of her disabled brother Ricky, and the sole guardian and advocate for her disabled son Chris. Candy, an LPN for over 25 years, was on disability herself for the past 6 years, and during that time she could no longer afford her life insurance. While the family is struggling with their loss, and desperately attempting to sort out how to take care of Ricky and Chris moving forward, they are requesting help with funeral expenses for Candy. Please consider giving whatever amount you can—every donation is significant and greatly appreciated! Our hope is to raise $3,600. Thank you for giving whatever you can!
