Please Support Stella’s Ehrlichiosis Journey

Hi, my name is Nicole and I am fundraising for my loving four-legged friend, Stella.

Stella is a rescue pup from Tijuana, Mexico. I met Stella in May of 2021 while living in San Diego, California. Stella and I have been on the adventure of a lifetime since then, including a cross-country move to Florida where Stella herself was the passenger princess!

Unfortunately one year ago we learned Stella must have come in contact with a tick carrying Ehrlichia before our time together. This disease had gone under the radar for months until the official confirmation was made through various phases of veterinary visits, tests, bloodwork re-checks and medicines.

Unfortunately, we have received the news that Stella’s kidneys have been affected to a currently unknown degree. This means the disease is progressing, and due to improper kidney function she is losing vital nutrients more each day.

I am both thankful and blessed that Stella doesn’t seem to be in pain or uncomfortable in anyway. She is continuing to show up as her happy, playful, love-bug self. Our veterinarian is incredible and we all have high hopes for Stella’s treatment.

Our current barrier in treatment, is funding. We have already taken out a Care Credit card to help us with re-payment plans, but are already over our capacity to keep up with the pre-existing bills… this does not even include all that are to come with the next phase of tests.

Stella is my baby and my best friend, and I could never let anything happen to her. We are going through will all of the veterinarian’s recommendations and our next step is to meet with an Internal Medicine Doctor. The first consultation alone is quoted above $1,100.

To all of our friends, family, and fellow humans… it has humbled me greatly to finally come and ask for help. If you know me personally, you know I’m a “figure it out on my own” type of gal. For Stella, I would do anything though.
